Prof. V. Narayana Reddy

                               Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, Professor of Anthropology, and Dean, Resource Mobilization, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati, was appointed the first Registrar of Vikrama Simhapuri University in August 2008. 
                               Before becoming the Registrar, Prof. Reddy has distinguished himself in the field of Anthropology through twenty-five years of teaching the subject at the Postgraduate and research levels and by conducting research in the field of policy-related micro and macro level studies broadly focused on the socio-economic development of the rural tribal communities in India. Prof. Narayana Reddy successfully completed four Major Research Projects aimed at studying and evaluating the dynamics of socio-cultural studies and socio-economic development of the nation and the region and has published four books on empowerment of women, development of urban societies in the Indian context, and empowerment of people. These books have been well received in scholarly circles. His areas of expertise include poverty mapping and poverty analysis with special reference to the tribal communities, stakeholder analysis, displacements and resettlements, disaster management, and rural livelihoods and gerontology. He has also attended a number of
national and international seminars and conferences and presented papers in Zagreb, Yugoslovia, Ohio, USA, Maryland, USA, California, USA. His area of special interest is research on Tirumala Hills, the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara, and the ethno-anthropological perspectives on the pilgrim population. He organized three national level seminars at SV University. 
                          Prof. Narayana Reddy edits a prestigious journal, Indian Journal of Millennium Development Studies. He is a Consultant for the Council for Social Development, Hyderabad, among others. His rich and active experience as Dean, Research Mobilization of Sri Venkateswara University was useful in widening the base for resource mobilization from funding agencies as also in raising resources for the University for the taking up of its innovative schemes long pending for want of financial allocation. His knowledge of Tribal studies helped him interact with the student community in bringing about social harmony and national integration. 
                        As the Registrar of Vikrama Simhapuri University, he has actively associated himself with perspective planning, preparation of the vision document of the University, curriculum development, personality development of the student, fixing milestones for the growth of the University and in meeting them, infrastructure development, use of IT in the administration and in the classroom and such other initiatives.
