March 12, 2010: Prof. C.R. Visweswara Rao, vice-chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) stressed upon the significance of business ethics to ennoble the cause of economics and business for fair social advantage.He was speaking at a management bash christened Fountainhead 10, organised by the Masters of Business Administration Department of VSU at the University here on Friday.
He said that the event was meant to provide a competitive platform for young managers to test their strategic skills for self-assessment and competitive exposure. Thirty colleges in and around the district have sent teams for the event. Two Events, The Alchemist (The Young Managers’ contest), The Bridge Across (a business quiz) were organised during the fest.
Focusing on value-addition to academic output, he asserted the advantage for both the teacher and the taught to get engaged in Samvada, the discourse of knowledge.
He stressed on the need for managers to be shrewd in decision-making and sharp in innovative techniques.
Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, registrar, VSU and president of the event commended both members of faculty and MBA students for their organised efforts.
One of the guests, Mr. K. Satya Prakash, general manager of the Krishnapatnam port company limited said that the dynamic nature of the manager was the need of the hour and advised participants to strengthen basics to empower their managerial edifice.
Prof. C.S.G. Krishnamacharyulu, Rtd. Head, S.V. University, spoke about the empowerment of strategic competencies so that the managerial reservoir of our country rises to the expectations of the world.

The Fountain Head is the first management meet organizing by Department of Business Management, Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore. “Practice makes man perfect”- the age old saying is very true for a budding manager. The Fountain Head is a stage for the students of the department of Business Management to practice Management concepts & horn their skills. The fountain head is equally a good platform for the participating young managers to brush and shine them selves. This one day meet organizes two events.

THE ALCHEMIST:
A practice manager needs to be very competent and often needs to show commendable results both financial and ethical. All these demands the Young manager to continuously sharpen them selves. Thus this event consists of 4 rounds
1. Written test
2. Group discussion
3. Double edge
4. Stress Interview
Written test:
This round tests the conceptual knowledge of the Young manager and covers concepts of GK and business knowledge
Group discussion:
The topic for GD will be given 10 min before. This tests the Interpersonal skills and communication skills of the young manager. Also it stresses on the initiation & the team oriented skills of the young manager
Double edge:
A topic will be given on the stage for which the young manager has to talk for and immediately against. Communication skills, Conceptual skills, Body language and confidence will be emphasized in this round
Stress Interview:
The young managers are tested for their Intelligence Quotient, Emotional Quotient, and Spiritual Quotient
THE BRIDGE ACROSS
This event consist of Two Rounds Written and Oral
