Industry readiness for the opportunities aplenty: VSU V-C
April 20, 2011:“Young managers should be industry ready to respond to the opportunities aplenty in the vibrant corporate environment,” said Prof C.R. Visweswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University at the Inauguration of the man-meet Fountainhead –’11 organized by the Department of Business Management. Attended by students from 35 colleges to participate in the three events organized as part of this man-meet, the programme is the continuation of the preceding Fountainhead –’10, conducted the previous year. 250 participants registered themselves to take part in three events, namely,
• The Alchemist (Young Manger’s contest) it tests the all round managerial competency and decision making skills of the students through a five phase testing pattern,
• The second event, Bridge Across, is a Corporate Quiz testing the general aptitude and extra- learning abilities of the students.
• The third event, The Tempest, is an Adzap contest, putting to test the innovative and creative production of advertising skills in marketing the products and fabrication of the strategies in capturing the market share.
Talking on the occasion, Prof. Rao advised the students to form attitudes for self-propulsion to surge ahead in the fast growing corporate environment. He said that the students should work on various management models for their leadership grooming and growing professionally promising.
The Chief Guest, Prof. J.V. Prabhakar Rao, honourable Vice-Chancellor, Rayalaseeema University, Kurnool, appreciated the initiative of the department for conducting such events involving students to learn organizational skills. He specified the role of Management education in today’s world and stressed the invincible role that the human resources play in realizing the targeted growth rate. He was very much illustrative in explaining to the students to seize opportunities and go global in being the entrepreneurial leaders in the global economy.
Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, Registrar, congratulated the members of faculty of the Department for being proactive and explained that the activities of this kind provide opportunity to groom the students’ strategic skills in a better manner. He said that such occasions call for self-evaluation and self-emulation forming the core of active learning process.
Earlier, Dr. Suja S. Nair, In-Charge of the Department introduced the Chief Guest Prof. J.V. Prabhakar Rao. Ms. J. Vijetha, Coordinator, Fountainhead –’11 set out the objectives of the event.
The Valedictory function was attended by the Head, Department of Management Studies, Prof. D.V. Ramana, Sri Venkateswara Univesity, Tirupati. In his valedictory note he called for better management sect of students to serve the much demanding corporate environment bring about new managerial approaches to find lucrative solutions for a promising economic growth. Prof. C.R. Visweswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, Registrar attended the Valediction.
