An Agreement of Cooperation (AoC) was made between Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU), Nellore, and Gitam Institute of Science, Gitam University (GIS-GU), Visakhapatnam, on May 19. VSU Vice-Chancellor C.R.Visweswara Rao and GIS-GU Vice-Chancellor G.Subramanyam, Pro-VC D.Harinarayana, Registrars V.Narayana Reddy and M.Potha Raju exchanged the agreement at Visakhapatnam. Gitam, declared as deemed university under section.3 of UGC Act, is the prime institute in Visakhapatnam region and has wealth of knowledge, and an expertise in the emerging areas of science and its applications, said the Gitam University officials.
While VSU situated in an ambience of great cultural awakening and fascinating journeys of the mind, has turned to help knowledge dissemination and skill development in frontier areas among the youth in the region.
The agreement will remain in force for a period of three-years and the managements will focus on exchange of faculty members and academic information for research, joint consultancy projects and in conducting lectures and symposia.
Prof.Visweswara Rao said the MoU will help to organise seminars, faculty development and improve teaching standards in both the institutions.
