Recall the patriotic fervor in Nation building: VSU Registrar

            “National spirit and fervor should lead us from the front as the nation is at the crossroads of transitional and historical upheavals,” said Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, Registrar, Vikrama Simhapuri University, in his Independence Day address on 15th August 2011. After hoisting the flag and offering his salutations to the national insignia, he said that education forms the base for building a strong nation which was realized very early by the formidable founders of the nation. He said that in the XI and XII plan period, higher education has been prioritized to reach the grassroots level by way of uplifting the downtrodden above the poverty bar. He recalled the emergence of new Universities in fulfilling the zealous mission and thereby standing up strong in the comity of the nations at the global level.  He said that the Independence Day calls for self-examination and self-realization. “It is an occasion to look back at our goals realized and evaluate their value and set on foot to achieve more in our relentless stride towards perfection,” he said. He placed on record the new departments started in the University and called for united efforts of the faculty in consolidating the knowledge base of the students building up confidence and providing them skill orientation in facing the unanticipated global trends.
            The members of faculty, students and staff of the University participated enthusiastically in the celebrations. Earlier, Prof. T. Sudha, Dean, CDC, Sri K. Narasimha Rao, Coordinator, Media Affairs & Public Relations, accompanied the Registrar in hoisting the national flag. Solemn patriotic fervor filled the atmosphere.
Blood Donation Camp organized by VSU NSS Unit

            The NSS Unit of Vikrama Simhapuri University organized a Blood Donation Camp in VSU Seminar Hall marking Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August 2011. As the NSS Unit recently has been motivated with Best Motivator Award for the NSS coordinator, Dr. Ramesh Reddy, this Blood Donation camp marks another event in the University’s NSS Unit’s initiatives.  Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, Registrar, Prof. T. Sudha, Dean, CDC, Dr. Prabhakar, Dr. Vijaya, NSS Programme Officers, Sri K. Narasimha Rao, Coordinator, Media Affairs & Public Relations, Members of faculty of the University, attended to the blood donors at the camp. Dr. Ramesh Reddy, said that the NSS Unit is making every national event a service oriented occasion and thereby bringing societal responsibility in the students.
