The MLA along with Nellore Revenue Divisional Officer M.Venugopal Reddy and the university officials visited the site at Kakuturu and held discussions with the villagers.

The officials assured to allot alternative sites for the people living in the locality.

The officials assured to allot site for laying approach road from the National Highway to the university site and asked the university authorities to start the works immediately. The university will prepare a draft progress report with an outlay of Rs.25 crore which would be submitted to the UGC in the first stage for getting the catch-up grant, the V-C said. Even as the speculation continues over giving affiliation status for the new universities, the government issued a fresh letter on July 27 to the universities stating that the recent orders issued on attaching professional colleges to JNTU, Anantapur, has been kept in abeyance.
