Sep 26, 2010: Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) former Vice-Chancellor and professor of management V. Balamohan Das expressed concern over the poor quality in the works being executed by various government and private organisations in the country.
Speaking at a national-level seminar on ‘Total Quality Management: Major Areas of Concern' organised by Department of Business Management at Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) here on Saturday, he underlined the need for quality management for leading a better life. The seminar was sponsored by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
Referring to the recent media reports over the poor quality of works in Games Village, the venue of Commonwealth Games, Mr. Das said it is very sad that even quality was not being maintained at venues where the highest tourney in the world is being held.
An expert in management studies, Mr. Das explained the students on the steps to be taken for quality management and how to achieve results in Total Quality Management (TQM).
VSU Vice- Chancellor C.R.Visweswara Rao said this was the seventh national-level seminar being organised by the institution in the last two years.
