Expressing concern over the poor percentage in higher education, Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) Vice-Chancellor N. Prabhakar Rao said the gross enrolment ratio in higher education was only 12 per cent in India, which was about 80 per cent in developed countries. He asked the students to take up higher education and go for Ph.D programmes which will increase the quality of education.
