Time to reinforce the spirit of equality: VSU V-C


“It is time that the spirit of equality, the enshrined value of the constitution has to be reaffirmed for living up to the aspirations and dreams of the illustrious freedom fighters,” said Prof. C.R. Visweswara Rao, honourable Vice-Chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University, Nellore. Addressing the students on the 62nd Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January 2011, conducted in the University College, he said that India set an example to the Third World countries through the strengthening of the democratic fabric and through its focus on world peace and Non-alignment, the concepts derived from inter-religious cultural heritage.  He reminded the students of the current scenario of economic boom and appealed to them to acquire the skills necessary for seizing opportunities of employment.  
With equity and access leading to rapid expansion of higher educational sector, the Vice-Chancellor outlined the need for the colleges to introduce quality initiatives to promote and to enrich the quality of the campus experience and life experience of the students.  He also said that technology enablement at the college level will bring in the transparency of administration keeping information at everyone’s disposal. Earlier, the Vice-Chancellor unfurled the flag accompanied by the Registrar, Prof. V. Narayana Reddy. 
Blood Donation Camp organized
Marking the occasion, a Blood-donation camp was organized by the NSS Unit of the University. Thirty students voluntarily donated blood. The Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar inspected the blood donation camp and handed over fruits and sweets to the donors.  Dr. K. Ramesh Reddy, Programme Coordinator,  thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar for their support and also thanked the donors for their voluntary participation.
