Unflinching dedication required to bring Social Justice: VSU Registrar
April 14, 2011:“Unflinching dedication is required to live up to the great ideals of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar for bringing social justice and for the emancipation of the downtrodden communities,” said Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, Registrar on the 121st Birth Anniversary of Babasaheb organized in the Seminar Hall of the University. He said that Ambedkar’s life is an inspiration for generations to come; his vision to fight out the social oppression is a matchless effort in the history of mankind. Referring to his unremitting efforts to bring social justice, he said that Ambedkar prioritized the cultural and political awakening of the bahujans and set out to raise his voice for separate electorates for the Dalits. Prof. Reddy said that Dr. Ambedkar is a great leader leaving legacy for the succeeding generations to fight for the silenced and the oppressed classes in the society. He said that Dr. Ambedkar envisioned for a casteless society and he spelt clearly his ideas not just on untouchbility but on women’s rights and the religiosity.
Prof. T. Sudha, Dean, CDC in her presidential address recounted Dr. Ambedkar’s multi-faceted personality and his vision in framing the Indian Constitution as the Chairman of the Drafting committee. She said that Dr. Ambedkar’s life is an example for selfless living and his every step and action is aimed at dispelling the gloom in the lives of the downtrodden. She said that it is the bounden duty of every person to take forward the vision of such great leader.
Earlier, Prof. V. Narayana Reddy, Registrar, Prof. T. Sudha, Dean, CDC, members of faculty of the University garlanded the portrait of Dr. Ambedkar. Students offered floral tributes to him.
