Higher Education for Character-building and wealth creation: VC ANU
April 28, 2011:   “Higher seats of learning should help the students in building sound character and impart such knowledge that will ennoble their careers to become wealth creators,” said Prof. Y.R. Haragopal Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, Acharya Nagarjuna University attending the Third Annual Celebrations – 2011 of Vikrama Simhapuri University as Chief Guest organized at Administration Building, Dargamitta, Nellore, on 28th April 2011. Growing a wee bit nostalgic about his belonging to the Nellore district, he recalled his teaching assignments in V.R. Law College and referred to Prof. C.R. Visweswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor, VSU, belonging to the same district. Dwelling on the low enrollment ratio of the students for higher education in India, he said that the youth empowerment will be realized through the gross enrollment ratio of the youth for higher education and creating better employment opportunities to them.  Referring to the grand vision for the youth to be the knowledge creators, he said that the goal of true education is the all round shaping of the personality and treating problems as opportunities to mould themselves into resourceful and self-disciplined knowledge workers.  His motivational speech laid bare the bare truth that attitude decides the altitude of a person’s career while character determines ones destiny.
