“Students should be imparted value-oriented and sustainable education,” said Sri M.G. Gopal, Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in his visit to Vikrama Simhapuri University on the eve of the Laying of the Foundation Stone of the University Building Complex by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Sri Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy at Kakuturu village, the site allotted to the University by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. He released the University Newsletter “Shruti,” on the occasion. He said that conscious efforts have to be made to increase the gross enrollment ratio in Higher Education from 11% to 15 % by 2015. He said that given the situation of the opportunities galore for the students in the global market today, it is a natural duty to all the higher institutes to prepare the students for these challenges. He appreciated the progress made by the Vikrama Simhapuri University in spite of all the challenges.
Prof. C.R. Visweswara Rao, Vice-Chancellor introduced him to the members of faculty of the University and the staff of VSU PG centre, Kavali, who were also present. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the occasion is indeed memorable since the efforts of the University have become fruitful in the direction of having stable structures meant for administration, academics and hostel facilities. He thanked the Principal Secretary, Higher Education, for his cooperation in the University’s progression towards its vision and mission.
