August 07,2010: The government is planning to provide one percent reservation for National Service Scheme (NSS) students in all Common Entrance Tests (CETs) in the State, said the NSS State Laison Officer Dr. G. Bhaskar Rao. The officer who was here on Friday to participate in the first NSS Advisory Committee meeting of Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) along with K. Rajendran, assistant programme adviser, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, verified the NSS activities of the university.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao said the government was proposing to give one percent reservation for all NSS students in all CETs from 2010-11, and the High Education Department will release a GO soon in this regard.
For the first time, government is presenting awards for best NSS volunteers, programme officers and coordinators in the State.
