VSU Registrar makes surprise visit to colleges

April 20, 2011: Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Registrar V. Narayana Reddy on Tuesday made a surprise visit to S.Chaavan MBA and MCA College, located at Jangala Kandriga village in Muthukur mandal.

He enquired about the lecture halls, labs, library, drinking water and other facilities in the MBA and MCA colleges. Jagans Educational Institutions correspondent S.V. Madhusudhan Reddy said that the computer lab was being renovated and the library and other amenities were being provided for the students.

Mr. Madhusudhan Reddy said the first batch of the management students would pass out from the college this year. The heads of the departments of the courses concerned were arranging workshops and debates on various aspects to improve skills students' skills.

The Registrar enquired about the faculty and non-teaching staff position in the institution. He instructed the college management to recruit only qualified persons in both — teaching and non-teaching — staff and keep a vigil to prevent incidents of ragging and eve-teasing on the campus.

“The university management has noticed lack of proper facilities in some degree and post-graduate colleges which caused inconvenience to the students, especially during examinations. The colleges should have permanent buildings, qualified staff, a playground, first aid room, waiting halls for girl students and other facilities,” the Registrar said.

The college managements, particularly the institutions which were located in the rural areas, should develop the connecting roads, arrange street lights and raise greenery on the campus. Steps should be taken to provide safe drinking water and keep the premises clean. Hesuggested the college staff to keep a tab on the surrounding areas and depute staff at bus terminals to avoid teasing and misbehaviour of anti-social elements on roads.
