VSU Dean felicitated

Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Registrar V.Narayana Reddy has said that teachers' profession is having great respect in the society and the young teachers should try to keep up the values of the job.
Speaking at the felicitation programme organised by the staff of the university to VSU College Development Council Dean and Head of the Department (Computer Science) Prof. Thatimakula Sudha, who received the State Best Teacher Award – 2011, here on Thursday the Registrar said a teacher will have lot of responsibility in framing a good and healthy society.
Prof.Sudha received the A.P.State Best Teacher Award from Chief Minister N.Kiran Kumar Reddy in Hyderabad on September 5, in connection with the Teacher's Day celebrations.
Stating that every great personality will have a good teacher behind his success, Mr.Reddy said the role of teacher in moulding the students into good citizens is very important as the students are spending most of the time in colleges.
The responsibility of teacher is more than the parents now a days as the teachers will take care of some hundreds a children every day.
The registrar stressed the need for imparting value based education to keep up the traditions and culture of the country. Apart from text books, the teachers should impart quality education with morals and ethics and on the happenings in the surroundings which will shape the children into good citizens. VSU in-charge Vice-Chancellor N.Prabhakara Rao said that good teachers will always recognition in the society.
The role of a teacher in guiding the student in a right way is very much necessary at the present scenario, as the country has depended on the educated youngsters, said Mr. Rao.
In a message sent to the award recipient, VSU former Vice-Chancellor C.R.Visweswara Rao said it is great achievement for the university that Prof.Sudha bagged the Best Teacher Award this year.
The juniors in the profession should emulate the best teachers and try to build a strong society, he said.
Prof.Sudha thanked the government for awarding the A.P.State Best Teacher Award, at university-level. The achievement of the award gave immense satisfaction for the 22-year teaching life, she said.
``I started my stint as assistant professor in Sri Padmavathi Mahila Viswa Vidyalayam, Tirupati in 1988. Later, I served in different cadres in the same university. The award has increased my responsibility in serving better to the student community'', said Ms.Sudha, who is also the ICET Regional Coordinator.
The teaching and non-teaching staff of Vikrama Simhapuri University honoured the best teacher with a shawl and presented a memento on the occasion. VSU Media Coordinator K.Narasimha Rao, Examinations Branch Coordinator Dr.Ch.Venkatrayalu, NSS Coordinator K.Ramesh Reddy and others attended the function.
