VSU Vice-Chancellor meets Cheif Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy

Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) Vice-Chancellor C.R. Visweswara Rao explained the activities and achievements of the new university to Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy here on Monday.
The Chief Minister who was on a two-day visit to Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district, left for Hyderabad on Monday morning.
The V-C along with Registrar V. Narayana Reddy met the Chief Minister at Pinakini Guest House and thanked him for attending the foundation stone laying programme for the university buildings.
Additional grant
They also expressed thanks to Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy for sanctioning Rs.10 crore additional grant for VSU.
The Chief Minister asked the university officials to start the construction works immediately and construct the buildings as per the culture and tradition of Nellore district.
In a report submitted to the Chief Minister, the university management has explained about the accomplishments in the last three years, said Mr. Narayana Reddy.
Mr. Rao said the master plan for constructing permanent buildings in VSU site at Kakturu village in the district has been finalised.
Facilities
Plan has been prepared for administration building, central library, sports complex, housing complex for teaching and non-teaching staff, school of humanities and social sciences, admission counseling complex, auditoriums, seminar halls and parking lots for vehicles.
The university management will start construction of administration building, academic block and women's hostel immediately, and the works would be allotted to either Andhra Pradesh Health and Medical Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation (APHMHIDC) or the Central Public Works Department (CPWD).
Donations
“In addition to the Rs.22.5 crore budget allocated for the university by the UGC and State government, we are expecting nearly Rs.3 crore from the donors”, said the Registrar.
