21st century Gurukulam handed over to VSU

The Consortium of Institutions of Higher Learning (CIHL) has handed over the 21st Century Gurukulam, located at Kandaleru in Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore district, to Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU).

The university officials received information from the CIHL, Hyderabad, a subsidiary body of AP State Council of Higher Education, in this regard on Wednesday.

The Gurukulam is being monitored by Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) for the past few years.

In a letter sent to SVU and VSU managements on Wednesday, APSCHE Chairman K.C. Reddy directed the SVU management to hand over the equipment and infrastructure to VSU and said the functioning of the Gurukulam will be monitored by the new university from 2010-11.

Orders issued

The government has recently issued orders giving affiliating status for new universities and about 125 institutions located in Nellore district have come under VSU as per the GO.
